Theatre: Sense And Sensibility

21 June @ 12:00 am - 27 September @ 12:00 am

£15

Sense and Sensibility tells the story of the Dashwood family and follows sisters Elinor and Marianne, whose lives are turned upside down when their father passes away suddenly and leaves the family home to their halfbrother, John. Although instructed to take care of his sisters, John is dissuaded from his duty by his greedy wife, Fanny, leaving them, their mother and sister penniless and destitute.

They are forced to move to a cottage on a distant relative’s property in rural Devonshire. Here, the sisters experience love, romance, and heartbreak, each guided by their unique personalities—Elinor’s pragmatism and Marianne’s impassioned sensibilities.

A co-production between Pitlochry Festival Theatre and OVO, this production promises to be full of love and laughter. A fresh adaptation from award-winning Frances Poet of Austen’s treasured novel is part of the Theatre’s Summer Season brought to life a bright, bold and theatrical retelling.

Sense and Sensibility was Jane Austen’s first published novel.
