About
Learn about the origin of Pitlochry Life below.
Pitlochry Life was first published as Newsround North by Alan Walker in the early 1980’s
As the first magazine in the area it has developed its unique style of local news. All clubs, societies, charities and local groups have updated the community on their activities and successes every month. Their contributions make this a truly local magazine.
At the end of 2013 Alan deservedly took a step back and has passed the reins to the new team of Willie and Debbie. Willie, who stays in Pitlochry, has known Newsround North since the early days and is very excited to take it forward. His background with the Gala Life Group enabled Newsround North to be updated using the latest technology. It became full colour, high definition, whilst also embracing the world of social media.
In 2016 Newsround North was re-branded Pitlochry Life to create an identity easily recognised by tourists, visitors and locals alike. It is otherwise unchanged and still includes all the updates from the local area, with regular features such as computing, fitness, gardening and and even a recipe.
With so much in Pitlochry, Aberfeldy and the surrounding areas to see and do, you cannot afford not to get Pitlochry Life. To make sure everyone can have their own copy we have increased production up to 10,000 from March to October and make it available everywhere our visitors have the opportunity to pick it up.
That means that Pitlochry Life provides the best possible circulation of all publications in North Perthshire and will provide you and your business with a unique opportunity to reach all your potential customers in an exciting colourful format

A Little About willie
Publishing started as a second career for me after a public service role for 30 years. 12 years on and I have loved every minute of it. From designing adverts for start-up businesses to laying out the magazine every month and writing the computer page. We never stop but we love it. The technology is always changing and new software enables us to keep the magazines fresh and informative. We have built up some great working relationships with our advertisers and met many readers. We love working on the magazines and helping other people in business to succeed.
A Little About Debbie
I love producing Pitlochry Life, from initial contact with new advertisers to seeing their advert in print, I get a real buzz from it. I have been working with many local businesses now for over 10 years and have a great relationship with them. If they do well then so do we! We see Pitlochry Life as a partnership with local businesses, groups and people. Our delivery team are part of that too. I previously worked for a large company as Marketing Manager and loved the camaraderie of a very large team and organisation, but making changes was hard to achieve. Working in a very small team of just 3, means we are able to put our own stamp on things. We like to be independent and work with other individuals to achieve huge success for them too. With a degree in English Literature I’m not too short on words… as many of you will know.
